A smile is designed around the proportions of your face, the line of your lips, the shape of your existing teeth and your skin tone — not around a uniform shade of white applied to everyone. Two patients asking for the same treatment should not walk out with the same smile.

One principle applies before anything cosmetic begins: health first. Active decay, gum disease or an unstable bite are treated before aesthetic work starts. Cosmetic dentistry placed over an untreated problem does not last, and no reputable clinic will do it.

This is a considered, long term decision and we will walk you through exactly what it involves — including what it cannot be undone from.
Professional whitening carried out under clinical supervision, addressing staining from tea, coffee, tobacco and time. Results vary depending on the nature of the staining — whitening lifts external and some internal discolouration, but does not change the colour of existing crowns, veneers or fillings, which may then need replacing to match. Temporary sensitivity is common and typically settles. We will tell you what result is realistically achievable for your teeth before we start.
Repairing chips, closing small gaps and replacing visible metal fillings with materials matched to your natural tooth shade.
Where a tooth needs full coverage, zirconia crowns offer strength with a natural translucency that closely resembles enamel — particularly valuable in the visible front teeth.

You take the plan away and decide. Cosmetic dentistry is elective. There is no reason to decide in the chair, and we will not ask you to.

How long whitening holds, whether veneers can be undone, and whether the result will look like dental work.
Whitening results are not permanent. How long they hold depends largely on your habits — tea, coffee, tobacco and staining foods will gradually return discolouration. With reasonable care, results commonly hold for a period of months to a couple of years before a top up is considered. Your dentist will give you realistic expectations for your teeth specifically.
Professional whitening carried out under dental supervision uses controlled agents and concentrations, and is well established as a dental procedure. Temporary sensitivity during or shortly after treatment is common and usually settles. The greater risk lies in unsupervised over-the-counter or salon products used without a dental assessment. Your suitability is assessed before treatment.
Veneers require some preparation of the natural tooth surface, and the amount depends on the type of veneer and your existing tooth position. This preparation is not reversible, which is precisely why we discuss it in full before you commit and why we consider alternatives — such as orthodontic correction — where they would achieve your goal with less intervention.
Not if it is designed properly. An artificial appearance comes from applying a uniform shape and shade regardless of the patient's face. Our approach designs the smile around your facial proportions, lip line and natural tooth characteristics, with the aim that people notice you look well rather than noticing your dental work.
Cost depends entirely on which treatments your plan involves, how many teeth are treated, the materials selected and whether any health related treatment is needed first. We do not publish fixed prices. You will receive a complete plan with costs at your consultation, and you are free to take it away and decide in your own time.
Those must be treated first. Cosmetic work placed over active decay or gum disease fails, and doing so would not be ethical practice. The good news is that both are treatable in-house by our periodontology and restorative specialists, after which cosmetic treatment can proceed on a sound foundation.
